Lightlord music
Energetic, gospel charged lyrics
that will inspire every soul.
Introducing lightLord AKA Double-L entered the hip hop world in 1984. I started writing and working on my craft to be the best MC the world would ever know. Then one day my cousin TC Ellis stop by the house with his LP Twin Cities Rapp and it open my eyes to the reality that there's more to this great energy than battling crew’s and spitting in Cipher’s during lunch at school. TC introduced me to B Quick a super producer that produced my first song “Mr. E” that I performed for the first time at the Glam slam under the ownership of Prince. That night changed my life forever feeling the love and energy from rocking a packed crowd for the first time was bananas! I can't even explain the feeling once again The Hip Hop world showed me another extension to its creativity that consumed more of my attention. I met another great producer named L7 (Scott McNeal) who worked with Prince, Dallas Austin, and a few other major musicians L7 showed me big production and helped in grooming me to be the artist that I am to this day.
I released my first maxi single in 1994 “Believe in what you see” & With the help of Dj Nova I opened up for Jay-Z at the Coffman Memorial Union at the University of Minnesota, I followed it up with the single “Give shots” in 1997 leading to the black man's journal in 2003, that I had co-produced with Eric Gainer with Echo Productions. With the experience and knowledge I gained I develop my own record label entitled lightlord Records. I started producing, manufacturing CDs, and graphic arts design. I created another project with Ace-B Mr. Hitchcock Titled “The last shall be first”. In 2018 I re-released “The Human Element” it’s an album with energetic gospel charged lyrics that will inspire Every Soul. I feel we forgotten about the human element we need to be more kind to each other, if you can just change one person's life you just change the world forever.
God Bless!!!
